Fill-A-Sock
For those of you that have been around a while, you know that every December our community comes together to support the Mustard Seed by participating in their Fill a Sock Campaign. Last year, our contributions were modified due to pandemic restrictions so we collected winter hats/toques and mittens/gloves for those in need.
We’re pleased to share that the Fill a Sock Campaign is back this year!
All you have to do is:
Step 1: Buy a warm pair of socks
Step 2: Put 1 sock in the other and continue to fill the sock with objects like:
Travel-size shampoo and conditioner
Hairbrush or comb
Toothbrush & toothpaste
Nail care items
Lip balm
Travel-size lotion
Kleenex
Band Aids
Pen & notepad
Gloves
Transit passes
Gift Cards for coffee, movies & candy
*Please do not include items that contain alcohol (ie. mouthwash, hand sanitizer) or razor blades
Step 3: Students can also include a little handmade note saying: “Happy Holidays” or “Hope you enjoy this little gift from Chinook Park Students”.
Our goal is to bring in at least 1 sock per student. In the past, we collected over 300 socks. On December 15, we’ll be displaying the socks and recognizing how we’ve come together to help those less fortunate. Socks should be brought to school by Dec. 13 at the latest. We will need a couple of parents to deliver the socks to the Mustard Seed on December 15 or 16. If you can help, please email Joyce Nisker.
Please support us and remember to bring the socks to Chinook Park School.
