ABOUT US
What is School Council?

The Chinook Park School Council includes parents/guardians of Chinook Park students in partnership with teachers, staff, school administration and community members with the common goal of enriching our students' education. In addition to fundraising and community building events organized through the year, School Council advises and supports the principal in the operations of the school.

Participation in School Council meetings is an excellent way to get to know your fellow parents and teachers in order to open the doors of communication necessary for your child's best educational experience.

Check out the "GET INVOLVED" tab on this website for ways that you can take part.

You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

What does School Council support?
Funds raised by the School Council are an important part of our school's budget. We work in collaboration with the principal to determine how the funds raised can best enhance student education. In the past, funds have been used for:

-
Artist in Residence/Improv/Sound Kreations
-
STEM learning labs
-
Foothills Soccer/Netball/Curling/Inline Skating
-
Mindfulness Program
-
Technology Upgrades
-
Literacy&Numeracy supplies
-
French Week activities
-
Outdoor basketball court upgrade
-
and much, much, more.
What is the Chinook Park Casino Association?

The Casino Association organizes volunteers every two years for a casino granted to our school by the AGLC. Casino proceeds cover about half of the School Council budget over two years. Budgets and financial statements from the Casino Association are presented for approval at Chinook Park School Council meetings.
